Stream Radio Without Web Browser Interface

Hi folks I've been trying to stream popular Irish stations on a device that is not really flash or Javascript capable. I can't seem to find appropriate URL's to the raw stream.

RTE and others seem to only allow streaming through a popup flash window.

I would assume that these stations would support devices such as IP radios's and the like which saw reasonable popularity over the last decade.

Do you have an IP radio and if so, how do you find the address of your radio stations?

    I use TuneIn Radio

    http://tunein.com

It's relays RTE better than the RTE player! NT too .

Do you meant an internet radio?

If so, aren't most Irish stations listed?

All the RTE stations are on my radio, including the digital only stations. I didn't have to add them, they're already listed under Location > Ireland.

The device I'm using is a raspberry pi.
It's a very lightweight arm6 based computer running debian linux.
it struggles with flash and javascript so I want to point my media player at the stream's URL directly.
I know nothing about IP radio having never owned one myself but I assume they can't process js/flash.

I wonder how your radio populates it's channel list as I can't seem to find any direct links to radio streams anymore.

They're usually packaged in a flash player type element that's responsible for getting the stream and playing it through the browser.

Maybe I'm not looking hard enough..

Most internet radios get their channel listings from a 3rd party database, called an "Internet radio portal".

Some of the more popular ones:
    Vtuner
    Reciva
    Frontier Silicon
    Pure Connect

Yup, good resource. Also handy is http://www.listenlive.eu/ireland.html if you fancy some European streams.

Thank you for clearing that up.

    Got it working now.
