    Hi all.

Driving home late last night the tyre on the car blewout!
Obviously I will have the cost of a new tyre but just wondering would anyone have experience is there likely damage to the actual car mountings, alloy etc. It was 1 in the morning when it happened so couldnt have a proper look!

    Cheers,

Could be damage to the alloy wheel, depends what caused the blowout, a pothole could buckle the alloy. Any idea the age or the make of tyres, if they are old or a rubbish make I'd look at replacing the other tyres on the car if they are the same.

There is a nasty kerb mark which looks fresh just under the tyre which could have caused the sidewall to blow.

They are a set of bridgestone tyres with about 10000 miles on them!
I don't remember hitting a pothole in the run up to this happening id imagine it would have to be a pretty severe hit to cause this damage?
I've had a look at the alloy today in the light it is definitely out of shape but hoping it will be repairable!

Looks like it was ran on flat for a considerable distance. I would say it was a puncture that you didn't notice until the heat/ overflexing of the tyre carcass took its toll.
