Maternity benefit query

Hi I have received a letter stating that I am entitled to 260 euro maternity pay as i am working full time , yet i received the payment today and only got 218 euro. ?? Does anyone know why this is, am i being taxed or something like 40 euro is a lot to be missing thanks

If it is your first week of payment, it could be only for a part week.

If you are getting paid from work too you will pay tax, but that should be taken by your employer.
