Real Christmas Trees

One thing I've always noticed from American TV shows is their real Christmas trees are so much more different (and better!) than the real trees we have in Ireland. Maybe its what these shows are always using fake ones but I was just wondering in America do they use a different type of tree for Christmas?

One year they're Republican trees n' before you know it, it's a darn Democrat tree- can't keep up with dem Americane Christmus Trees:(

We get a real christmas tree every year. Worth it for the smell alone.

After reading the OP I realise we are comparing American real vs Irish real. I've never noticed a pronounced difference to be honest.

American trees are envious of European trees, that's why they are greener.

I have a very snazzy artificial tree but I always chop down a load of pine tree branches and put it 'inside' and behind the tree for the smell. It fools loads of people. Win-Win.

Went looking for a real tree yesterday and couldn't get one. There were several absolute shyte examples on offer, crooked, thin and scraggly, all the branches at the base, crap!

Why did I just read that in a Bill Cosby accent?

Mostly because they spend a lot of money getting the perfect tree.

Secondly because we tend to buy non-shed trees like Noble Fir and the American favourite like Douglas fir sheds more even if it does have denser foliage.

The only difference I've noticed is the size of the trees. This might be a big city verse country thing; but the trees in Dublin are all significantly smaller than the trees I saw while staying in the US.
