If you post a question I think it would be nice and polite to say "thanks" on the replys to the people who have tried to help you. ( the didn't have to )
And all the Mod's for all the help keeping the peace!
If you don't like the reply then don't thank.

Also a little note on the outcome of the job in question, just to let us know how you got on and if our varied!! replys helped.
If I asked somebody what time it is, I'd say thanks if they replied.
Once they didn't tell me to feck off of cource !

Or am I totaly wrong in this view ?

    Thanks.

I agree 100%. The amount of people who get possible solutions to problems and then p1ss off and never say if it worked or not, let alone thank anyone, is very rude in my book.
( And don't deserve any further help!)

Good manners hurt nobody and is sadly missing in this day and age.

The Feedback forum would be more appropriate for this.

    Maybe not.
Scudo and a lot of other professionals give a lot of advise to people on plumbing/boiler issues. I think he was trying to make them see that a little thanks goes a long way

Oh I understand fully the point you're making and agree entirely with it but I'm just saying that there are professionals giving great advice in numerous forums across Boards and that's why I suggested feedback for discussion as the the point raised isn't exclusive to P & H :)

It's nice to say thanks, that's the only topic here.
    THAT'S ALL
P&H was an internal comment previously discussed between the helpful regular good guys,(we have got to know each other and welcome + thank all opinions, that are appreciated) that's all.
TOPIC was the just asking to know how people got on with there problem + a bit of "thanks" for the help never harmed.
It's as simple as pressing a button.

I think it relates to all fora where people post looking for help, whether it's plumbing. computers, gardening or whatever.
Just basic manners to thank someone for advise and let others know if the advice was helpful.
In the 'real world', you don't ask someone for help and then just walk away without saying anything.
    Well I hope not!!

Yeah I see it in many other speciality forums as well and also in real life.

"Thanks" scudo for addressing this ;)

yes its handy to know how people get on with jobs and what advice they followed/if it helped. Brutal truth is most people are here to use us and our advice, take what they can from it, do what they want with it and never have a 2nd thought for us :)

A well, that sorted out how much posters love to thank.
Friday the 13th 2013 and 13 replys. At least I can thank all 13 of ye.
Hope none of you are superstitious !

If no replys then that would be bad.

It just goes to show that a random few thanks and the odd note on the outcome helps keep the regular helpers here.
    Ta to all.
