Mandible of a Fox(?)

    Hi,

I found these pair of jaw bones alongside the Dodder not far from Ballsbridge.

I Googled "jaw bone fox" and the results look almost identical so I'm guessing that what they are.

I might try bleaching them and gluing the teeth in and perhaps displaying them like some sort of macabre trophy of doom. My girlfriend is going to absolutely love it.

Can anyone confirm that they're definitely from a fox?

Any suggestions on how best to preserve and display them?

Any thoughts on what a paid of jaw bones were doing sitting by the river? I didn't look around too much but no obvious sign of any other part of the skull nearby. Probably just carried there by some other animal.
