Buying in a certain area of Finglas

I'm interested in buying a property in Finglas; it's within the area
that I've outlined in the attached image. (Forgive me for being so
"cloak and dagger" in not giving exact details of the property; I don't
want to tip off the vendor.)

Is this a suitable area for an able-bodied bachelor who has no plans to
    start a family? In particular:

    * Can I safely walk to and from Superquinn and Tesco?

    * Can I safely go for a walk?

    * How great is the risk of having my dwelling burgled?

    * Can I go about my business without being robbed,
assaulted by loitering youths, or stoned by delinquent children?

    * Are the people in the area considerate of their neighbours?
For example, are there many people who would frequently throw a
noisy party and keep half the road from having a good night's rest?

    * Is there a general atmosphere of menace or disorder? Do you
get the sense that criminals are in charge of the area?

    * Is there a problem of children or teenagers who have nothing
better to do than persecute people?

    * Are the estates peppered with "social housing" tenants?

If you don't mind, I'd prefer to keep this thread relevant to the area
that I've defined in the above image, rather than discussing Finglas
    generally.

Which side of the dual carriageway? In your square, the right side is much better than the left.

Sister lives up the road by the Charlestown shopping centre for last 5-6 years.

She often walks the block by superquinn on her own. Superquinn is very close but I'd say tesco is probably too far to walk but that's me.

Never had any issues with safety / burglary / robberies / assaults / menace or disorder.

There are some youths that hang out by the Spar there's but no menace. They just seem to smoke and shift.

She wouldn't drink or socialise in Finglas but grand place to live.

Social housing - lots of it around

Able to walk to Superquinn and Tesco without trouble - yes

All in all, the area marked off in your map is not a bad part of Finglas at all. A bit further south and you'd be properly questioning the area. I lived just north for a year and a half and I had no problems (well except for some stray takeaway deliveries and an annoying neighbour in his 60's).
