I'm 18 years old and have very bad tinnitus. It's getting progressively worse all the time and I struggle to hear people quite often. I'm wondering if I am entitled to some sort of disability benefit, and if so where do I start?
    Any help s greatly appreciated.

If it were me I would get hearing checked to see if there is a loss that may explain tinnitus. If you're anxious it could explain tinnitus getting worse but you may get referred to a specialist as you are young.

Get it checked. I know people who get disability payments for hearing loss altho its not easy to get. As for disability payment for tinnitus I would imagine its more to do with your mental health and how it effects you

Social Protection would deal with disability benefit. Make a claim.

Of greater concern is the medical aspect of matters. If you have not done so you need medical assessment NOW.

Been to a doctor. Sent to audiologist. Confirmed to have tinnitus. They think it's to do with one of my eardrums being misshaped. Even though I have it in both ears. Either way it's untreatable. Just have to avoid loud noises.
