my particular favourite "Running is enjoyable. Cannot stand the obsessives though. You know the sort. Looking like something out a concentration camp video - all bones, taut skin and bulging eyes. Men with spider legs and no arses, women without curves. Joyless and empty running machines. From health and exercise to obsessiveness.

Have a slice of apple tart you miserable sh1tes!"

they had to be in saggart:p

What a langer, as they say in my home town! After my 10 miler to work this morning I've been eating and drinking since. An easy 10k in the woods tomorrow, Christmas work gig tomorrow night and an ole 20k to clear the head on Sunday morn.

    How bad?

I think it's fair to say I eat more apple tart now as a runner than I ever did before. They'd want to check out the spread after some of the club races..

Some fella with a gut trying to feel better about himself. Nothing more to it.

Unlikely to be talking about triathletes I'm afraid. If you do see them they'd be all rippling muscles and permatan, usually with designer shades and a branded visor.

They're notoriously hard to spot though, as they're normally totally surrounded by a large group of simpering women, talking about their IM tattoos.

I was going to say something about "couldn't be triathletes" too, but mine was a little different :-)
