Retro Multiplayer Christmas

Nothing better than gathering around a console or game with friends and family (especially around Christmas) and getting some fun going.

What are everyone's favourite local multiplayer games? Doesn't have to be strictly multiplayer, i.e. time attack on F Zero etc.

My own choices, in no particular order:

    1) Mario Kart (SNES)

    2) Street Fighter 2 (SNES)

    3) Tetris (Gameboy)
Taking it in turns as kids.

    4) F Zero (SNES)
Again, taking turns to beat each other's times.

    5) Micro Machines (Megadrive)

Street Fighter 2 definitely, MK2 as well on the SNES. Lost Vikings 2, swap the controller over to someone else (might have had multiplayer setting too though).

Hogs of War on PS1 and Worms (the PS1 version). Crash Team Racing was my absolute favourite racing game too, but Micro Machines came a close second!

    Of course, Battletoads!

Edit: Oh, and Ghoul Patrol for the SNES; sequel to Zombies!, but in my opinion much better.

Always loved me abit of sunset riders on the snes even if its inferior to the arcade version. Game is tough as nails. My cnut of a brother set the difficulty to easy one time we were playing without saying it and I was super hyped when we finished it, nearly killed him! :)

    That game looks insane!

It's like Banzai coming to life in video game form!
