    Hi All,
We are a family of first-timers heading to Austria from 21st to 28th and we are looking for info from others who have been there for Christmas Day. A couple of things we would like to know

    - is Christmas Day treated the same as any other on the slopes/ski school?
    - are there any special celebrations on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?
    - what is the Austrian Christmas dinner like?
    - any suggestions as to whether there are any items we should bring ourselves (besides presents obviously!)

Thanks for the help in advance

laurach; You staying in a hotel?

    - is Christmas Day treated the same as any other on the slopes/ski school? - Yep they are open, lessons vary from resort to resort some will offer lessons on Christmas day some don't varies.

    - are there any special celebrations on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day? Christmas Eve is the big day in Austria most towns require special permission for shops and restaurants to open, its a bit of hassle and some don't bother, apres ski will be quieter etc as most of the locals will be home with their families. You will need to book your dinner for this night in advance normally.

    - what is the Austrian Christmas dinner like? - If you are in a hotel they tend to do the traditional Turkey Christmas dinner.Austrians traditionally use a goose or ham.

    - any suggestions as to whether there are any items we should bring ourselves (besides presents obviously!) Just what you think you will need!
