Just a quick one on foam rolling...

Haven't done it in ages, so did a session this morning and found a knot in my IT band region,

Should i let the roller sit on the knot for a few seconds or just roll past it?

Also in the area were i had the knot, I had a deadleg like feeling after my rolling session, is that normal or a bad sign?

    cheers in advance guys

Sit on it for a good while, applying firm steady pressure.
Then when it eases roll very slowly an inch or so above it, back and forth until you feel i ease. Then roll below it the same.
By now it should all be loosened so you can roll from above to below in slightly longer moves keeping pressure on.

Go at it from different angles and flex the limb at the knee etc.

Its like trying to soften blutac. The more you work it the looser and more pliable it becomes.

Just go as slow as you can and keep the limb completely relaxed.
