3DS XL Question

Folks,

Bought a 3ds xl for my kid for XMAS when I was in the states a couple of weeks back. Someone mentioned to me here that when I either power on the DS or when I connect to the Wifi that it will detect that is not in the US and then region lock and shut it down.

Is this true? Havent powered it up yet until find out the answer to this question.

No this is not true.

It won't however play games bought in shops here, you will either have to get them shipped from North America or buy through the Nintendo shop on the 3DS.

Excellent, thank you, so even if you buy them on the ninetendo shop through the 3ds there should be no problems?

Well I was the opposite, had a European 3DS and was living in North America and had no problems buying eshop games. I had my eshop region set to Ireland.

So I guess I should set the shop site NA and hopefully should be good. Now to get the voltage converter.

You don't need one, just buy a charger in a shop here.
