lippy highlighters ? I bought some for my wife for her work Secret Santa got them on Iwoot.com - cheap as chips …but they also look cheap as chips !! (her budget in work is €10 I think)

really depends on the person - do you know the female solicitor outside of work or just a colleague …. I'm sure you'd be able to find something from a quick search online.

Just a colleague at work. Its a legal dept in an office rather than a solicitors practice. Was thinking a bible but sounds cringy the more I think of it!!

Please don't do funny. It's rarely funny and usually ends up as junk around the house or thrown out. For less than €20 you could get her something that's actually nice, like a Max Benjamin candle (http://maxbenjamin.ie/our-products/candles/scented-candles/cloves-cinnamon-warming-candle). Funny is just such a waste of money and a waste of an opportunity to be nice to someone and I mean that genuinely. You could get something nice and really surprise and make her happy, or get funny, maybe make her laugh and then sigh, wondering what she'll do with it.

Tell us about him. What age bracket? Job? College? Kids? Hobbies? Type of person?

Thanks miss no stars! Good points - just shows ya where my head is :D

He's 54, married with grown up kids. Very fitness oriented - has run marathons and often cycles over 20 miles to work... (Nutter!). Was looking at those cardio watches and gps trackers but a bit over the budget for a half decent one. I don't mind going over budget but will get in trouble :p

Ex army and now works in a hospital environment.

Yikes! About as tricky as it gets so! There's the option of something like vouchers for say, kitesurfing lessons, but I heard on the radio the other day that only half of all vouchers get used so maybe not.... Do you know if he already has any gadgets? Like if he has a GoPro you could get him accessories for it.

Sorry I'm not much help, I find men of that age horribly difficult to buy for. My dads that age and its always a case of 'argh, what to get him?!?!'

I agree with the above, don't go funny, it rarely works out, better off spending your money on something they'd use. What about a nice hard cream? Like a Clarins hard cream? I keep mine at my desk at work and use it every day. Or a nice L'Occitane set?
