Sole trader - use my PPS or get a new TRN?

I have to set up as a sole trader for a new contract role, is my PPS number sufficient on the invoices I bill them with, or do I need to get a tax registration number instead? Would appreciate advice, am bamboozled by all the information online & I rang Revenue but they were no help. Thanks in advance!
