Have to bring herself shopping:eek: in Newbridge today and have been looking for above burner head. Are there any good plumbing suppliers near there they might stock them? Need to get a few other bits and pieces too.

There are so many Joe Public buying and fitting their own parts most trades stores are now selling at retail prices, no such thing as a trade price with heatmerchants, now the new RGI number scheme they brought in should be box standard across merchants, problem is Oil is unregulated so un-policable.

Found out the cheaper one was ex vat and the more expensive one included vat. Still a big price difference. Time to go online.

That is correct. Would I get away with using the regular short one, although the back of the regular one is different, doesn't have the second plate like this does.. Here is a photo of the back of the one I am looking for.

I will contact Grant, though I have not had must success with them in the past. They always (cover ass) by saying stick to the manual. One time they didnt even have a manual for one of their -supposedly- 50/90 Modular boilers. Boiler measurements was not the same as described in the manual. They sent me a copy of the nozzle sizing chart. When I asked them what sort of burner head should be used they sent me a copy of the original manual for the regular size combustion chamber. It was like being caught in some type repetitive hell. In the end I spent two hours extra experimenting until I got acceptable FGA readings.

Not listed on their website. I will contact them if I cant find one. Waiting on reply from HWOS after sending them the requested extra info.

At this stage (and because it is close by) I would like to try a regular short tube on it and see if I could get good FGA's, but it would not be fair to the owner as it might shorten the boilers life.

That's it Dtp. The one I used was off one of a reconditioned burner that I keep for emergency parts or replacement. It would be unfair of me to accept that one from you, unless you envision never using it, because I will eventually source one and just pass on price to customer.

I will accept it from Dec, and then sell it to you for €30 if that makes you feel better. That way everybody is happy. :D
