I watch CNN every night but as of to-night UPC have now taken it off. There is a notice up that I must pay extra now to get CNN. I have always had CNN and I watch it late at night. I pay 77.00 a month for my bundle (plus extras for service etc phone calls). I can't pay any more..

Discovery ID is gone as well. All the programs I usually watch on that channel seem to be on some new discovery channel called discovery quest which I do not have access to. I was getting really annoyed with the remote lately so now I've decided I'm jumping ship.

SyFy also disabled. Have had CNN for 7+ years with UPC. Can they just change our service like that with no notice or new agreement?

Yes, I believe they can. Channel lineup is subject to change.

That is ridiculous. Apart from the anytime calls it's the only reason I have their more expensive package. Loads of political shows I watch on there - although Piers Morgans show has become unwatchable in the past 6 months. They still have it listed on their website. Talk about false advertising. What is the reason behind this? It's available on free to air so I doubt it costs them a huge amount.

CNN is available free to air on Satellite, get a UK branded Freesat receiver and a mini-dish pointing at 28.2*East.

Poor customer service to be doing that.

On another note I don't know how anyone can take American news channels seriously

Yep, bad customer service. Whats to stop them removing 50% of your channels?

That was one of the reasons I cancelled UPC a couple of years ago. They changed a lot of channels I had with no notice.

When I rang them up it was a "take it or leave it" attitude. So I cancelled.

Also the remote control used to drive me nuts, It used to stick and freeze all the time......

Pay the same with Sky and had all the channels back I wanted.

And now MGM HD also removed, what's next?

Ah, that's a pity especially as standard MGM channel broadcast quality is abysmal
