If you look at anything for long enough, faces begin to emerge.

We seek comfort in the things we recognise. It's almost tragic.

The only freaky thing here is that the Daily mail is still going, despite the fact it's not worth wiping the arse with.

Angels, ghosts, Spirits, moving statues, god, the devil.

All a load of shite and if you believe in any you'd want to be checking your mental state.

I can't see a face. Even in the crappy zoomed in version...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,215 ✭✭✭harney

Is there anything to be said for putting dailymail into the swear word filter for 6 months or so, as a sort of social experiment?

Is the memorial sponsored by IRON BRU?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,299 ✭✭✭✭MadsL

Its a area of intense sadness in that area.

On a brighter note, it is where I first ate soft shell crab, which is yummy. So there is that.

Angel? Would be a fair bástard of an angel in fairness. Didn't do much good for anyone there.

Exactly the spot where you'd expect to find mangled metal more like. It would have been much more impressive if it formed in a space unaffected by the direct impact of the aircraft.

I wonder if the '911 angel' is related at all to the 'face on mars'?

On the road from Glencree to Eniskerry there's a rock that juts out from the side if a wall that looks like a lion's head in profile. It's not a lion's head, of course. It's a bit if stone that, from the right angle, in the right light, 'looks' reminiscent of a lions head.

That's no angel OP. It's the result of a pattern-seeking cognitive mechanism finding a pattern in the random. And attaching a cultural meaning to it. I'm sure some of our resident pastafarians might have seen images of the FSM represented in the tangled wreckage after 911. He wasn't there of course, and neither is your angel. What is there is a lump of debris that 'looks a bit like' an angel. In the same way that the Daily Fail 'looks a bit like' a newspaper.

Only benefit of reading that rubbish is that it reminded me of the time when Ted kicked Bishop Brennan up the arse after claiming a likeness off him had appeared in the skirting board

Face is one of the first shapes humans learn to recognise when born. We try to see aspects of ourselves in most things.
Faces, genitals, breasts and the many shapes of human are things we are attuned to recognise when even the slightest similarity appears in other objects.
    So yeah, a face. -_-

Haha I love the first comment under the article - "Looks more like a dead transformer face than an angel"

We should introduce the [Bollox] tag for any posts including a link to a Daily Mail story.

Just pointing out that saying it's from a UK publisher means nothing, and you seemed to think it did.
