Hennig a mile out in front. Did he deserve a run? Did he ever have a title shot on PPV?

On a side note, I find it amazing that Jake Roberts never captured any championship in WWF. Same goes for Lex Luger. Madness.

Hall would have won it as Razor if he stayed put... But then we'd never have had the MNW's etc haha!

Went for Piper myself, the guy oozed sheer charisma.... if Flair got so many titles I belive Piper should of got a few in time.

He won WCW's World War 3 60 Man Battle Royal for a shot the Big Gold Belt but it never ended in victory for Da bad guy. Hall was the man. Coolness personified.

Jake for me, crowd went nuts for him and was a master psychologist in the ring and was a great talker. If anything I think he was a victim of being ahead of his time, if he were 12 years younger and was in his prime during the late 90's he would have been champion for sure. But even playing a much darker character in contrast to the colourful and cartoonish world of WWF circa 1990 he still managed to get over in a huge way as a face and heel which I think is a testament to just how talented he was.

Outside the names mentioned, Owen Hart, great in the ring, fantastic feud with Best showed what he could do at a high level. As a heel he really made me hate him. He was also ahead of his time with how he could do pretty much everything in the ring and wrestle anyone.

If someone like Jericho can be a mutlti time champion even being the first undiluted champ then Owen Hart was more than worthy.

I'm with DM-ICE here, and All anyone needs to do is Check out Owens rivalry with Steve Austin to gauge how he would have performed at a high level.

I think Owen gets overrated because of what happened. He didn't have that extra something that allows someone to be the guy.

Piper for me. A huge draw and I just think of the money Vince could have made if he put the belt on him and build it to Hogan winning at a wrestlemania.

Got to be Mr. Perfect for me. Was always a great IC champion, always carried himself amazingly. He had the look, the skill and the charisma to be a truly great champion. He was just unlucky with all the "big names" as Vince would put it were taking up the spotlight!

For me it was the Hot Rod, loved him from what I've seen (he was for the most part before my time). With Hall, I'd always thought he'd won the big one in WCW, probably cause Hogan and Nash had too so I assumed Hall made it three.

I clicked Mr Perfect, but could have easily clicked Million Dollar Man. he would have been a perfect heel champion, but was not allowed because of a certain persons ego.

I actually vaguely remember seeing a list somewhere of the top 20 or 25 people to never be world champs (it might have been on WWE.com but I'm not certain), and someone pointed out in the comments on it that a majority of the list was wrestlers who happened to be in the WWE around the same time as Hogan.

What about William Regal? Maybe not as popular as some of the names in the poll but he has been around so long, can work with just about anyone in the ring and has had a gimmick that has stood the test of time.

Speaking of Brits, how about Davey Boy Smith, The British Bulldog? Could they have tested him out after the IC win at Summerslam? Or a heel transitional run in 1996 as a heel?

They pushed him as a heel toward the main event at one stage and it was met with Tumbleweed. Nobody at all cared.

Nah,he even admits himself that his style was never suited to working US TV matches and he needs guys with a similar style to himself to bring out the best in him.

If it was champion of promos and backstage skits he'd get my vote though.

Scott Hall has never been WWE Champion. The Miz has.

Very good one he was too (his feud with Lawler was excellent) until he got caught up in the mess that was The Rock guest hosting Mania 27 and stealing his feud with Cena.

I never got why so many people actually hated his time as champion? He was never bigger than then belt (in fact he would do anything to keep a hold of it), he had good feuds with Lawler, Orton and Morrison and an "eh" feud with Cena up to WM, and then a great feud after. He also defended the title a number of times on Raw, which was pretty awesome! I enjoyed Miz as champion

I reckon it's because CM Punk had a whinge about Miz being champion on his DVD, and most people take his self important opinions as gospel these days.

They put the belt on him when there were 10 better guys on the roster to choose from. Bland promos too except for maybe one half-shoot promo he did but I still didn't really care anyway. And apart from that the booking wasn't great either. A feud with Jerry Lawler for the WWE Championship in 2011, that's a mid-card feud at best, and Alex Riley interfered almost every time.

I loved when he had a shoot go at JBL and the locker room, he should have looked stronger as champ. He always came off as a cowardly heel and a champion shouldn't be like that. maybe a mid card champ but not the top dog

He beat the tag champs by himself, then when they got an immediate rematch, he hit his finisher on Cena and watched him lose.

Don't think he came off as cowardly at all and I look forward to his next reign as champ.

Sorry I know using a gif like this can be a bit of a d!ck heelish move

I actually didn't dislike his run at the top that much, at least it was fresh and new at the time. I do agree that a feud with Lawler wasn't what most wanted to see though even though it was WWE's way to try and get him even more heat.

That said looking at the guy now on Raw all I get is a giant meh! I didn't think anyone still liked the guy, not that they hate him (generally) but ive very rarely heard anyone refer to themselves as a fan of The Miz.

on topic though I voted for Ted Dibiase, Piper would have been a clsoe second for me and then perhaps Perfect (although honestly id probably have him around 4th in the list) who im a little surprised is so far ahead in the list. Great wrestler and all but looking back im far more surprised that Piper/DiBiase didnt win the big one.

Problem with Miz was he was booked very poorly and that match at WM27 killed any credibility he had.

It was all about the Rock and John Cena and Miz was just kind of there.

It hurt him, and the WWE title imo.

I can't really say whether he was a good or bad champion as he simply didn't have a chance with the bad booking.
