cow with johnes.

right i had a cow that just wasnt thriving that well compared to the rest so i got her tested for johnes. got result back today and she is positive. shes pretty thin but around the 600 kg mark. shes 7 months in calf. The vet is calling me back tomorrow to discuss options. anyone here have one with it or any suggestions from you lads. (and kovu)

cheers for that. all i could find was the ahi booklet. would you chance isolating her and calving her down or would you just cull now, or would a factory even take a cow that far on?

was the test milk, blood or dung?

have u tb tested recent to the johnes test?

got her blood tested. not sure whether factories will take her. theres an agent finding out.

get her dung tested to be sure. The bloods can give a false positive sometimes

bloods do give false postivies as said. would want two bloods positive to be sure. get dung tested (takes 4 months i think) and in the mean time dont feed her milk to heifer calves or bulls if they are for breeding.
