    Hello -

I was wondering if anyone has any experience of these devices.

I was originally looking at something like this

...but I read somewhere the disk performance was crap.

Now I'm thinking about something like this instead

If anyone has any experiences to share, I'd really appreciate it.

    Thanks,
    GOMP

The performance of anything IDE will be crap. Just buy a sata drive?

I have an old drive that I want to use. If i wanted to buy a SATA drive, I would.

Whatever you do the performance wont be great, but the second link you posted is SATA drive to IDE motherboard, rather than IDE drive to SATA motherboard.

Even the performance from the SATA drive in the machine is poor 10mb/s. Should I be looking at something else?
