Buying a second hand electronic drum kit-what to look out for?

I've been eyeing up a few electronic kits and I've decided that I would rather get a better quality second hand kit than a cheap lower quality new kit. I'm looking at a 4 year old yamaha dtxpress 3 that looks fine, seller says it's in perfect condition etc. However, apart from knowing that the pads should make a sound when hit, I haven't a clue how to tell whether a kit is in good condition or not. Is there anything in particular I should be looking out for/aware of?

plug it in and check that it works (duh!)

    check it physically for damage.

    that's about it!
