Hey I'm in first year in business in DCU :) Overall I really like the course, theres a mix of subjects such as economics, accounting,IT,psychology, law, marketing, etc so its really good as you get to try out loads of different subjects and see which ones you like. The timetables not too bad, theres not that many hours but you have a maths tutorial everyweek in the first semester and accounting and economics tutorials every second week. The maths isnt too hard plus theres continuous assessment worth 15 % and you only do it for the first semester. The college itself is really nice the campus, canteen, library,in general the facilities are all really good.If you have any more questions feel free to ask hope this helps !

2nd year has pretty much the same hours. 12-14 or so. Financial Markets is quite difficult in my opinion, but manageable. there not much a workload change from first year. there's operations management, statistics, law, financial markets, business information systems and HR in semester one.
The campus is nice and small, so your not half the day getting from one place to another.

Hey..is financial markets, law, statics hard....as your a second year student can you tell me a "super lazy" person how much work, effort and dedication this course needs..what about exams....i hate maths and everything related to that..but i love business...also does dcu have equal reputation as ucd or lower what about the course....im a super shy person, how hard will it be to make friends...so many questions( im sorry :( )hope you can answer :)

Financial markets I find difficult enough, but if ya studied it abit it'd be grand. Law has a lot of cases, but you'd be fine to pass.. Statistics is ok aswell, a few calculations to make, but if you study it atall you'd be fine. ''super lazy''?? haha. i'd also fit that category. However if you manage to get into the course, you can't be that lazy. There's not much work involved beside the exams. we've 6 exams on january. Never mind reputations to be honest, at the end of the day, it's just a piece of paper at the end of the day. if you're super shy, just talk to as many people as you can in the first week in the course.

Hey I don't know about financial accounting or law seeing as I'm doing it next semester. We had management accounting which is hard but its not that hard like you just have to go over your notes and stuff. Alot of people don't like it I don't think its that bad but we'll see how the exam in January goes haha.In the accounting exam we have half multiple choice and then one long question so its not that bad they didn't have multiple choice last year!I don't think its that hard to make friends they have a best course for induction in first year and although its really boring it does help you get to know people in the course and you'll get to know people from your tutorials too cause you're in with only 30 people max in the classes you're with the whole class for the lectures then I'd say you'll make friends easily enough you don't have to be outgoing to make friends :)I wouldn't say i'm a lazy person so cant help you there haha just don't do nothing like even if you do a bit of work you should be fine !Hope this helps :)

Im so lazy i dont even study...i do my homework in school and i sleep in class..what are the hours like..... I just wanr a "doss course"...where i can spend my time in my cosy home (lucan) ;-)

Well I definitely wouldn't say it was a doss course now but thats just my opinion! We have about 13 hours but thats excluding the tutorials some are every week others are every two weeks and they're an hour long. Then again if you're one of those people that can doss and not go to lectures and still pass then you might be ok and even if you are lazy you can't be that lazy cause you need 440 points to get into the course so if you get in you can't be that bad! !
