As its that time of year, recommendations please for a truely inspiring carol service..

Personally I'll be attending one of the Grosvenor Baptist services, and may try and get to St. Patrick's Cathedral..

Service of Nine Lessons and Carols at Christchurch on 16 December. Best thing in the entire history of ever. Massive demand, so they control numbers by issuing tickets. Tickets are free, but you need to apply in advance. You're probably too late.

St. Patrick's are doing a Nine Lessons and Carols on Christmas Eve. I think that's ticketed too.

Not a 'pure' Carol Service as such but this may interest you as well.

Service of Nine Lessons and Carols at 'St Patrick's Cathedral' Dublin on Christmas Eve 4pm. Traditionally broadcast live on RTE Radio one. Great sing along, great atmosphere, all your favourite Christmas carols accompanied by a great Cathedral organ, full choir + kettle drums and a trumpeter for 'Hark the Herald'...

Multiple Carol services in many Churches right throughout this month.

Earlier I was drawn back to a parish who celebrated a charity night not so long ago with local choirs and a full local orchestra for Syria and the Philippeans. :) I wanted to partake in Mass here this year for Christmas and bring my family because I found it a little pearl parish.

St. Agnes parish in Crumlin celebrated a very beautiful midnight Mass and the carols and worship were a joy - lovely community, genuine-and the Holy Spirit is very present and alive in her parishioners. Just lovely, and pretty cool to hear people sing not only in the choir but also the parishioners either side of me worship in unashamed song!

St. Patricks' is brilliant. My sister went to one out in NUI Maynooth this year and she said it was brilliant.
