Looking to get back into PC gaming, been away for about 5 years so am completely lost on whats what nowadays (e.g. had never heard of an IPS monitor until I starting reading these threads! Last rig I had used a CRT that weighed a ton :D )
Have filled out the template below but my aim is to have a decent rig for gaming and some light video editing (nothing major like After Effects etc.) but primarily gaming.
From looking at other builds, I guess I should be going for an i5 as its better suited to gaming?
    1. What is your budget? €650
    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Gaming - Planetside 2/BF4/COD:G/Thief 4 etc. and some light video editing (Sony Vegas)

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? No, have Win 7 64bit here

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? 128GB Samsung SSD & a 1TB HDD (7200rpm, 64MB cache) donated by a mate

    5. Do you need a monitor? Yes

5a. If yes, what size do you need. 21' or bigger please

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? A gaming keyboard and mouse, currently have a Dell mouse that I can adjust the DPI on the fly which is great for certain FPS's, dunno if thats standard on gaming mice?
    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? Yes

    8. How can you pay? Credit Card/Paypal/Bank transfer

    9. When are you purchasing? In the next month or 2

    10. If you need help building it, where are you based? Kildare, but should be ok to build it myself...

Aim here lads is to have a rig I can rely on for the next couple years of gaming, playing games at least on high if not ultra. The budget may increase in the next 2 months so if there's something you think I should push the boat out on as the benefit is worth the extra expense, just shout.

Finally, dunno if its worth mentioning, but asthetics don't mean much to me, it can be wrapped in the uglyist case known to man, so long as it runs well :P
