Need help with gaming pc build before xmas €600

Hi all. Ye must be sick of the same questions over and over but here goes! I'm trying to organise a gaming pc for my son for the Christmas and have loads of questions.

Basically is it doable with my budget?

1. What is your budget? €600 around

2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Gaming, he mentioned the new battlefield but then laughed as if it was nuts to dare hope. I guess that's a reach

3. Do you need a copy of Windows? Yes

4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? No

5. Do you need a monitor? Yes

5a. If yes, what size do you need. 20', or anything nice and cheap!

6. Do you need any of these peripherals? Keyboard Mouse Wireless Card

7. Are you willing to try overclocking? I have no idea. Is it dangerous?!

8. How can you pay? Credit Card

9. When are you purchasing? As soon as possible

10. If you need help building it, where are you based? Should be ok hopefully. Part of the deal is that he'll learn to do it himself. I've messed around with ram and hard drives etc but nothing too crazy. It'll be a bonding experience :pac: My nephew built his own so he'll help.


Would I have every thing delivered in time?

With a monitor and windows required it will be tight but doable. I would look to get bits second hand or in the bargain threads here.

What are you looking to play on it ? Is it minecraft or battlefield?

Hi Grumpypants, thanks for reply. Yeah figured it would be a push. Might drop the monitor and maybe get it later on, he can have my one, its a 1280 x 1024 if that makes a difference. He'll play whatever the machine can cope with, battlefield he hopes. . Always on steam tf2 atm but my pc is struggling. And i want it back, he hoggs it! Thanks so much!

If you plan on dropping the monitor it will bring it under price. Windows and monitor are bringing down the build. Anywhere else you could source Windows?

The one issue you are going to have is that a lot of parts (especially for cheaper builds like this) seem to be out of stock at the moment so getting them in time for christmas may be an issue
