    Hi all,
Thanks for taking the time to read my post and any help is very much appreciated!

    1. What is your budget? 1000-1200 euros

    2. What will be the main purpose of the computer? Gaming machine. I'm primarily a Path of Exile player, but I'd like the machine to be able to handle a modern FPS when the mood takes.

    3. Do you need a copy of Windows? Yes, Windows 7. I dislike windows 8.

    4. Can you use any parts from an old computer? No, working with a laptop atm.

    5. Do you need a monitor? Yes

5a. If yes, what size do you need. I'd say 20-22' but I'm not 100% sure on that, I may edit this Thursday when I compare sizes in the shop.

    6. Do you need any of these peripherals? I need a keyboard. I have a good mouse already.

    7. Are you willing to try overclocking? I'd tend to value stability over performance. But I don't know much about it tbh.

    8. How can you pay? visa debit

    9. When are you purchasing? Not in a rush, happy to do some research before I buy. This is my first build so my main concern is buying parts that are incompatible due to my lack of knowledge. And the sheer volume of different card types etc is a bit overwhelming.

    10. If you need help building it, where are you based? South Dublin. I'm fairly confident I can assemble it myself. Used to work assembling servers. Was 10 years ago so I'm fairly rusty, but I've read Toms guide. I'm jinxing myself here!

I see no one has replied to this:

I just put one together on the fly so here are the componants (please check compatibility of all parts as I might have over looked some details while doing it very quick):
    Processor: i5 quad core
    Motherboard: Asus P8Z77
    Ram: G.Skill Ripjaws DDR3 8gb
    G.Card: GeForce GTX 780
HDD: Westers Digital 2 TB 7200rpm (this is in here as I could not find any 10,000 rpm off hand)
DD: Cheap western digital sata drive (I myself would download games from steam)
    PSU: Corsair AX760
Case: NZXT Phantom (Full size case, thats all i went on in this instance)
    OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit

€1163.54 + delivery charge of parts

(Ventilation and cooling issues need to be addressed also but its more of a trial and error thing for me)

I personally use a CRT, Microsoft Reclusa and Intellimouse. I wont recommend anything because its down to personal choice for these parts in my experience, I made the mistake of getting someone recommending me hardware once before and it didnt suit me at all, so now I try my best to make my own decisions off the back of countless reviews, write ups etc

Thanks guys. This is super helpful. Ghogie, what site did you get the prices for these parts from?

having done a little research I'm not sure I can afford the spec you have posted including a monitor. If I needed to include the monitor price in my budget whatdo you think my best option would be re: GC etc.

Don't worry you will get a good build and monitor sorted. Amazon are doing LG IPs monitors for 140 odd euro with free delivery so that leaves 1050 ish for your rig correct?
