Just wondering if anyone can advice if bikram yoga is ok to do when you have low bone mass density of the spine? Are there any particular positions you should avoid?

Thanks for any advice in advance
    Donna

Probably best to ask your doctor about this!

Bikram yoga is mostly ok if you are fit and healthy. However they use a "one size fits all" approach which does not take into account any injuries or medical conditions that people have. Forward flexion is clearly not suitable for those with osteo (see http://goo.gl/pzatK3), and there are very deep forward and backward bends in Bikram. So on this basis alone it is totally unsuitable for those with osteo.

There is also the delusional belief (by most Bikram instructors) that it cures everything so keep that in mind if an instructor says forward flexion is ok.

Mod note: as this is a medical condition it's best to seek medical advice before undertaking any new exercises.
Also as it didn't stay on topic I'm closing it
