Bugs from staying in hostel

My friend has come back from Lisbon on Sunday, staying at a hostel. She's now got loads of bug bites. She went to the doctor and the doc confirmed they were bugs (she doesn't think they're bed bugs). My friend has washed all her clothes, her bed clothes, anything that was in Lisbon has been washed, twice. She has sprayed her room with bug spray.

She is still getting the bug bites despite all this.

Can anyone advise on what she should do? Will the bugs go away?

Regardless of what type of bug they are, most bugs are extremely difficult to kill at certain stages of their life cycle, and will need a few attempts to eradicate fully.

It's a fair point. She says they're not bed bugs because she cannot see them.

This is why I never stay at Hostels or overly cheap accommodation. Booked a cheap hotel in Budapest once before and I always check the sheets for bedbugs even in posh hotel and found the hotel in Budapest infested. I left and stayed at an alternative place. Disgusting, Bedbugs and hippys in hostels with dreadlocks to me are the epitome and uncleanliness and disgusting. Yuck!

To be fair, I think you can get them in any hotel etc, all it takes is for a previous occupant to have stayed in an infested bed previously.

You would think that the Waldorf-Astoria would have been safe!

Bed bugs like STDs don't discriminate.

Can be picked up from anywhere.
Washing the sheets isn't guaranteed to kill them.
