Tis what the yanks call 'cyber monday', an annual feastday over there when the peasants, the super rich and the few lads in between sacrifice a large portion of their (future) earnings to the Beast of Consumerism through online means. Because it's the online version of Black Friday it's also customary to trample over other online shoppers as you rush for "bargains" which are in all honesty still overpriced.

The likes of Amazamazon are of course dieing to import this feastday to Ireland but we must resist the madness. Even if this means bringing extra worries upon yourself that gifts won't arrive on time for the Crimble.

I was tempted to buy stuff online yesterday but I resisted the urge, questioning whether or not I actually need another batch of Chinese-made junk around the house that I'll rarely use.

Only stuff you wouldn't usually buy counts. If you buy your train ticket at the start of every month or a year's supply of pot noodle on the 2nd of December every year that doesn't count.

Apart from a single plum floating in perfume served in a man's hat I didn't succumb to the allure of this satanic like celebration of consumerism.

Oh, I did also buy a few Abba concert DVD's, a wooden chair, a top hat and a few Alf pogs.

    No. I didn't.

But the copy of Elf I ordered arrived.

Screw you Sky, trying to ruin Christmas.

Yes, but by pure coincidence. Bought a fab camera I've been eyeing up for months, happened to check it again last night and it was reduced by nearly a third. Happy days!
