    can any one tell me do qualified electricians get to skip the first year in the course electrical engineering?

    I think so, because when the course first started several years ago there was a second year class with qualified electricians.

    But as the poster above said, best check with the department to make sure. The head of department is Albert Byrne.

    Depends on experience. Try get a look at the 1st year subjects and see if you could manage them, some lads I know who get direct entry to yr 2 of a engineering course struggle badly while others find it easy.

    Give the engineering office a call and try get in touch with the course leader, he'll have a better idea than Albert Byrne.
