I switched over to RTÉ1+1 at 7:50pm for the Six-One News but there is a message on-screen "This programme is not available on RTÉ One +1".

    Any idea why?

At 7:56 the message was replaced with "RTÉ ONE +1 Starts at 7.00 PM"

8.02 pm - Franc's DIY Brides appears but beginning of programme is missed.

    RTÉ1+1 playout problem?

On the 9 O'Clock News they apologised for a mistake in the Six-One News where they falsely said someone (by name) was directly involved in collusion (or something like that).

It made me wonder if that was why the replay on RTE One +1 didn't happen (cos I had noticed that earlier too).

That occured to me too, something to do with the the Smithwick Tribunal report which was published yesterday.

Confirmed today in the Sunday Times
Lawyers representing Owen Corrigan, one of three former gardai investigated by the Smithwick tribunal, contacted RTE Television after it incorrectly reported last Tuesday that he had been found to have colluded with the IRA in the killing of two RUC officers in 1989.

    ....

RTE confirmed an error was made by a reporter during a live broadcast on Tuesday's Six-One News "The error was realised directly following the programme and any future broadcasts of the report on RTE+1, RTE News Now and RTE.ie were prevented," it said.
