loader bucket

    now that things are gone quiet on the farm i was lookin for a project.i have an old 3ft shear grab bucket and was thinking of cutting it down to 2.5 ft and then welding on another 2.5 to this to make a 5ft bucket.it would b used for the front loader.i would do all the welding and would brace the welds aswell.would it stand wear and tear.what do ye think.

    would it not be easier to add a foot to each side of the original as you would have no messing with brackets

    could you just not add the 3ft to the 2.5ft and have a 5.5ft?

    Would you not split it down the middle and add the 2ft in the middle. That way the bit added could be supported each side.

    I know this is a project but you'd get a new 5ft for 700.
    By the time you get materials there won't be a huge saving:o

    Decided to add 2ft into the middle and this the finished product. Overall only cost 140 euro and will be perfect for the few jobs it will be doing.
