Problem with venician blinds

I have wooden venetian blinds, to my disappointment the lower lats have gone mouldy black looking even though I have cleaned them. The coating seems to have gone off them. The side facing the room are fine, it is the side facing the window. I got them fitted professionally a few years ago, they are not touching the window.

My question is would I now be better off replacing them with aluminium, these won't go mouldy will they. Ide like to get opinions before I spend more money.

    Hi
If you are suffering with this problem you could consider faux blinds. They are made from a compressed PVC and are very easy to maintain. They are designed for wet rooms and rooms with high moisture content.

    I hope this helps
