Anyone recommend a particular night splint for PF.
I have had it since Feb, doing the golf ball, ice, stretching all day (it seems).
I have had several deep tissue rubs on it to stretch it out...its going nowhere.
I can still run but not until at least an hour after i get up in the morning which is a hindrance as i am snookered with time constraints for running anyway...rest does not seem to cure it as i ran yesterday for the first day in a week and it was exactly the same this morning, it does not seem to get worse even if i string a stong 4/5 days together...its just not moving.
I am doing Boston again in April and fear that when i ramp up with the long runs it will flare up like it did before Boston this year.

I want to try the night splint now...like the look of the ones that bend the toe back abit as opposed to the 90 degree ones that look a bit bulky.
    Any feedback welcome...comfort, heat...awkwardness...I need a solution.
    Thanks

Did you get it diagnosed as PF?

Had something similar earlier this year. Had it a few months.
I spoke to someone how had the night boot, and they were saying they were very uncomfortable and found it difficult to sleep with.

I got mine sorted out by Johnson McEvoy in Limerick. Took 3 visits but done the job.
Golf ball or deep tissue had no effect on it.

I've been out of action the past while because of PF. Rolling, stretching, golf-ball. No running, just gym work. The most frustrating part is I can't tell if there's any improvement. I'm afraid to run for any length of time in case I set myself back further and the symptoms don't seem to be dissipating. At my wit's end.

I wanted to share with you my story of plantar fasciitis. I had it 4 years ago in both feet as I was running. My case was very painful since I started to treat it too late. I stopped running for a few weeks and in order to stay fit I started swimming and riding bicycle, an idea I had from an ironman coach. Tried all the non invasive treatments that I have heard of - most found not useful. I used to tape my foot every day and as my pain started to get better I started to strengthen my foot muscles.
I slowly started to run again. When I was back in a good running shape I was already swimming and riding well and finally decided to train for my first triathlon.
It didn't all happen in one day. I am talking about years. Today I am an experienced triathlete with 5 Olympic distance triathlons in my record. I can say that Plantar fasciitis have made me a triathlete.
I tried a night splint which was rigid and bulky and could not sleep with it. I have found some good information about it and about PF in elrofeet.com.
Keep on going and good luck.

I found that the golf ball fidnt help. Too sore so you dont put enough pressure on it. Tennis ball fixed it for me. You can roll it for way longer while working or sitting at home. Really worked for me, had it for 8 months previously. Good luck.

If its what I had. (Pain under heal). Worse in Mornings, after sitting down for a peroid of time etc.

Golf ball. Deep tissue. Dry needling. Been a tough soldier. Rest. Didn't help.

3 visit. 1 every two weeks. Sorted it out.

    Up to you bud.

But that's what worked for me.

I think recovery time for dry needling is a few weeks...
    The sock night splint?
    Taping was great for me.

I had the dreaded PF when training for Cork this year.
I found that if I got out of bed in the morning without doing my stretches/rubbing; I was going to pay for it.

    I used these

I didn't get out of bed and plant (pun intended :)) my foot without stretching the PF for a month. The shock of standing down on my foot, first thing in the morning was causing it to become inflamed apparently. I also got some physical therapy sessions to keep it at bay, and some very basic Lynco Sports insoles to help manage it.
Touch wood - I've kept it away since last April.
