We are in the process of buying a house which will need the heating system replaced and upgraded. It's piped gas. Any suggestions on what to budget for and what to get?

It would really depend on size of system, type of system, parameters of the system & what your system requirements are?

I'm in the same boat - we'll need a new boiler and piping for a 70sqm 2bed bungalow (gas). Radiators are newer and can wait. Wondering what budget we should be thinking about... any ballpark figures for a basic job?

The house is 2500sq ft, built in the 80s and there is central heating but I'd have no idea other than that!

For just a new boiler changeover?

    And the pipes throughout.
    Nothing fancy, no zones etc.

What pipes are you talking about? Is the boiler going in a different location?

The ones distributing water to the radiators

A basic boiler changeover including a powerflush and minimal piping would be around 1600-2000. Extras would include a magnetic filter, a new timeclock and maybe increasing the size of your incoming gas pipe, which needs to be at least 3/4" copper

    Hi,
I recently replaced 11 radiators and all flow and return pipes in my in-laws house. It was a single pipe system and was rubbish.
The piping, radiators and fittings cost €2900 and that included a new dual coil cylinder in case they ever want to fit a stove.I went sealed for the mo so no header tank in attic.
Now you will have to factor in labour as i did it myself and also the pipes will more than likely be on skirting unless you have suspended timber floors!!!
