I have a Citroen C4 grand Picasso. I changed all 4 tyres last week and as the wear on the old tyres seemed uneven I had the tracking done aswell. I wasn't there when the tracking was done so got no comments from the guy who did it. I noticed yesterday that there are already visible signs on wear on the outside edge of all 4 of the new tyres. I don't think that this is normal. does anyone have any suggestions/advice

How old is the car? It sounds like some suspension parts are worn and throwing the camber badly out.

It's 2007 and was serviced about a month ago. They never mentioned any problem with suspension parts

Id bring it to him and show him. Give him a chance to check it anyway

The only way to get to the bottom of this matter is:-

    1. Have the car checked by a competent mechanic to make sure no suspension parts worn / damaged (two good Citroen specialists are Don Baker in Enfield or George Frayne in Naas, although I don't know where you are). You will get an honest answer from either. Having the car in for a service doesn't mean that suspension wear will be picked up on. Depending on where you went, they could have just done an oil change and not checked anything else.

    2. If nothing unusual is found in the suspension department, then bring the car to somewhere that does a proper four wheel laser alignment (call around tyre places and ask). Tracking on its own is no good. You should expect a computer printout with measurements before and after that will show to what extent (if any) the alignment is out.

Alignment costs from around €50 and a suspension check shouldn't be much more from an independent. Cheaper then 4 new tyres or worse yet, an accident.
