    Hi,

I did a search for this information - but everything I found was a bit old?

Could anyone suggest who they would recommend for buying and selling Irish shares online trading small amounts of money?

And if you could highlight the likely fees that would be brilliant?

    Thanks.

I can only tell you my trading platform and let you judge for yourself.

    20 euro quarterly charge.

    15euro per transaction.
    +1% government on irish market
    +25euro for US transaction

So for every 1k you buy on US shares, you start off about 4% down.
    Irish shares about 2% down

The graphs and numbers are ok. I prefer to use yahoo or google.

Putting money in takes too long.

However, their interface and options are really easy to learn and understand.

Thier portfolio valuations are 1 update per day which I think is lame, however, this is not the type of account you'd use for short term trading with these fees so this isnt a problem.

google portfolios is alot better and you can just use Davy to do the buy and sell part.

They look pretty good, are there inactivity/annual fees?

Saxo appear to have a min funding of 10,000 SGD, which I assume is Singapore Dollars no?

Two questions: why would a trading platform advertising in the EU be using this currency?
and; is this type of min funding 6-7k euro (if i converted correctly) the norm?

Really keeps out all but serious investors if so.

You can fund your account in Euro, Sterling, US dollars.

I used €5k to get mine started.
