I understand a portion of a redundancy is included as reckonable earnings based on length of service.

So, if a parent receives a redundancy payment of €5,500 from an employment that terminated after 5 years and six months service, how much is included as reckonable income?

    (2) If any of the persons whose income is under consideration retired or was
made redundant from employment or self-employment in the reference period
and received a lump sum, a proportion of the lump sum is taken into account
    for calculating reckonable income.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
