Anxious about moving to Ireland!!

Ok this is going to seem really shallow but I need help.

I live in a desert for now but I will be moving to Ireland early next year for a few months on an internship. I'M SO EXCITED. I can't wait to see trees and plants and experience what rain feels like but I'm a little anxious about the humidity.

But I always look like a mess :( when I travel and I never end up taking pictures or feeling comfortable at all.

1- HUMIDITY: I have short wavy hair and every time we have our one day of rain here, my hair frizzes up and I end up looking like I have a nest on my head. I've read that Ireland always experiences 75%-85% humidity throughout the year and that worries me. Are there hair products I can buy?

2- WINTER CLOTHES: I've lived in Washington DC through the winter but it was unbearable because I hadn't bought the right coats and gloves and jackets and boots and whatever else. It's been a while since I've actually experienced something resembling winter so I'd really like to have some tips on that! Where do I shop? How can I not look like a fat old lady?

Other pieces of advice related or unrelated will be appreciated.

    THANKS:D

there is a shop in many Irish towns and city's called PENNEYS , or known as primark in the UK . Thats where you will find all that you need to look smart and well dressed.

I have frizzy hair too, and in general I don't find the humidity in Ireland bad at all, not compared to other countries anyway, because the temperatures are quite low. If it's dry, the humidity doesn't affect my hair here at all. Just always have an umbrella with you, the misty rain is the worst! I use a product called Frizz-Ease to keep the frizz away.

Penneys is good for cheap clothes, the quality mightn't be the best but you'll get a lot for your money. You won't look like a fat old lady :) Everyone will be wrapped up for the cold weather. You'll need a warm coat, a chunky scarf and gloves. It won't be near as cold as winter in DC, but if you're coming from the desert then it'll probably feel like the Antarctic to you! Penneys will have all that kind of stuff, as well as warm socks, vests, thick tights, etc. The trick is layering. You can wrap up for winter and still look stylish. Chunky knits always look lovely...cardigans, scarfs, etc. Calf-length or knee-high boots look great with jeans or skirts and you can wear lovely thick socks underneath.

What part of Ireland are you coming to?

It doesn't actually rain nearly as much in Ireland as people make out, of course it depends on what part of Ireland you are in because I believe the west may be worse but I'm in the South East and it rarely rains, we had one little bit of rain over the last few weeks.

Well then worry not, there are plenty of shops.

1/ Frizz Eaze product-Go to chemist called Boots (On the SOuth side of the Liffey:There is one in St. Stephen's Green shopping centre at the top of Grafton Street, one on Grafton Street.

On the North Side: one on Henry Street and one in Jervis Street Shopping centre which is on Henry Street)

2/ Clothes: Basically go to Grafton Street (as well as the street crossing it at the top) and Henry Street for individual shops. Lots of choice.
Also good Department Stores: Arnotts (On Henry Street), Debenhams (Henry St.), Brown Thomas(up-market! on Grafton Street).

    Hope that helps :)
