College and life issue

So I'm in Second Year in college and I've fallen way behind (like not submitted most assignments). Last year I was on extenuating circumstances because of some health and mental (depression and anxiety related) problems that I had/have. This isn't an option (getting extenuating circumstances) I want to pursue again. I am acting like everything is fine with loved ones, who expect me to do well this year as I promised them I would. They and I have invested a lot and it makes me sick that I am letting them down so much. I can't sleep and I really don't know what to do - every time I'm having a good time with my family I immediately think of the college situation and I just feel so guilty.

I'm wondering what people would recommend here - should I contact lecturers and explain the situation, maybe get a late late late allowance? and then try to get through the exams? I honestly feel like if I get through these then I can do fine this year as I am naturally extremely smart and always would have been near top of anything educational.

    Help me out please!? :)

I had a friend in college who suffered from anxiety wouldnt ever do a presentation because her nerves got the better of her. But she got help from the college, I myself got extended time when a relative died, I emailed my lecturers for and explained the situation to them and they said no bother.
So if you feel comfortable enough tell your lecturers and maybe have you got a welfare officer or even go to your students union for advice, because thats what there for, to help you along the way :)

Generally lectures have hearts and they can understand that sometimes student might be under pressure for whatever reason. It is important tough that you try your best to deal with the issues and also get your work done.

Speak to your course coordinator and the lecturers, explain your situation. Ask them for advice on how they feel you can get the most out of what's left in the semester and do well in the exams. Approach someone on your course who attends and ask if you can copy their notes. Set yourself a realistic target, do up a study timetable and knuckle down. Stay positive and focused.

Talk to your lecturers, get an extension if you can, do your best to get through the exams but if you don't, you still have options so don't pressure yourself too much over this. And finally talk to a college counsellor, obviously whatever problems you were having last year are still there and you need to deal with that. Best of luck
