Might seem a bit premature but i really need to get myself back into a car asap for my own head and because im living in the shticks.
I had planned to sell the 325 after christmas and downsize majorly anyway so it isnt a reaction to the crash.

basically ive 4k ish to spend (depending on what insurance decide to give for my own)
and the cars on my list are: Grande punto, suzuki swift, yaris, aygo, iq, corsa, twingo gt.
    i dont want a 1.4, i want to keep it to a 1.0 or 1.2.
The only thing i would get a 1.4 for really is this http://cars.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/beautiful-07-grand-punto-full-extras/5916781

but at 90k miles im a bit wary, i know it depends on how it was maintained etc but the suspension would be well chewed up on that one and needing alot of repair at that mileage.

So....help please! :( any possible cars i may have missed that might be suitable or downfalls with the ones listed, fire away

Yeah I like the look of the second gen suzuki swift and from what I've read they are supposed to be a really good car.

I not understand suspension waryness, I think it most likely not needing a lot of repair :)

What about a Twingo 1.2 with 100hp? 4K for an 08 with an alleged 46K Kms.

I have one eye on that one FN :)

The suspensions on the GPs are supposed to be quite soft cabbage, when i was previously going to buy one it had half that mileage and needed several new bits which is why i walked away

what year in the 325 Op? After coming from the bm, would you go for a smaller engine, bmw, audi, volvo or merc?

right, if its the tax, the only way I see it as worthwhile changing, if you are going for something substantially cheaper to tax, probably 1.6 or below, is going down to the 1.2-1.4L not going to kill you?

exactly, 1.2 or 1.0 is where its at really. If insurance goes the way it should and i come out ok financially then that may change. Ill know a lot more tomorrow it seems.
I will just have to get used to the slowness

just typed in volvo, to see what litre engines the s40 were, they have a 1.6, below is the first one that came up. At least it would be similar to the bm, i.e. good build quality and spec and comfortable place to be, yeah it wont be quick with a 1.6, but it might be a middle ground for you. I just think driving some of the cars you have mentioned would be so depressing, coming from what you are used to, I get the wanting something cheaper, but what value do you put on comfort, build quality, safety...
