Hello all and thanks for reading. Hard to get the thread title to explain what i mean so here it is (hopefully).

I have a laptop with itunes and all my music playing through it. I had my classic ipod stolen a year ago and havnt replaced it since. I have a Blackberry torch phone which has packed in. Now im in the market for an MP3 player (or similar to replace ipod) and a phone.

My question is should I just buy an Iphone 4 or 5 and combine my listening and phone action or an itouch and another brand mid spec smart phone?

I have alot of music and so with that combined and apps , photos etc etc I wonder if the capacity of the Iphone is enough? I guess I could be selective on my playlists and not upload all my music to the device.

What is the listening / audio quality of an Iphone? Much difference to ipods?

I dont fully get Itouches. What do they offer that compensates for no connectivity to a mobile network. Is it basically an apple mini tablet for apps and music? if so I already have a 7" Tab 2 Galaxy tablet. Again, what is the audio quality of the Itouch.

if I was to get an Iphone, The new I phone 5 is so expensive. is there a big advancement on the Iphone 4?

    Thanks people.

An iPhone 5 is a full two years newer than an iPhone 4, and there is a big difference.

And to answer your question, having an all-in-one device means less to carry around and although they're not cheap you're not buying two devices.

Thanks Zcott for the reply. I just dont want to fall between stools. Is the audio good on Iphone 5 ?

Doe sthe 2 year development in Iphone for and 5 justify the price difference?

iPod Touch is an mp3 player that also has the apps common to an iPhone. It suits some people rather than paying out €700-800 for a phone. I just got a Z10 BB and a 32GB card which means it does phone and music, as I'm not paying the money for an iPhone. Amazon had the Z10 simfree fro €220 at the time.

Not sure I want to go down the Blackberry route anymore. Ive done a few of them and fancy a change. never found the media side of things great on them. Also think I want to keep compatible to itunes unless Im convinced of a far superior option.

I certainly haven't noticed any audio issues on any devices but I'll also add I'm no audiophile. And yes, the difference in price is entirely justified IMO.
