Before i start this isn't a thread bashing iRadio. It is a fantastic station. I listen to it consistently.
I am just wondering why they made the decision to put that guy cooper on breakfast. He is the hardest person i have ever had to listen to. Complete D4. Now I'm sure he sounds grand in dublin, but on iradio i think he stands out like a sore thumb ( a really sore thumb). It is like he is trying his best to be funny, but he is not at all at all. I just don't get him. He just doesn't seem right on iRadio. (I still listen to the breakfast show by the way, it is my one gripe)
I do feel myself wanting to crash my car in frustration when he comes on. Oh god i really do sound like I'm bashing the radio station and him now. I was just wondering is it just me. Will i get used to listening to him. Id like to hear some positives about him so i can look out for them and not get annoyed! Anyone???

Controversially, I also enjoy listening to iRadio. I think Cooper is grand to listen to actually, but I really didn't like Dave O'Connor (or suppose didn't like his persona on the show, I'm sure he's a nice guy) so I suppose I was always going to like listening to a new person on the show. Don't listen to the show regularly though (I'm a Ray Foley Show listener usually, but when Ray and JP are off, which seems to be very often, or if I'm home in Sligo I give iWake Up a listen) so I suppose I'm not hearing the worst bits maybe. I don't think he sticks out though, a few other DJs on the station have what could be considered D4 accents, but I don't really notice it.

You're not even on the right side of the city:rolleyes:

Don't like............don't listen. I for one think Cooper is doing a good job and nice to see a long time radio pro on a station like that. Some of the other presenters haven't a clue.

Cooper is probably the best thing that iRadio has these days. Properly trained format jock who knows what he's doing. The likes of Fergal D'arcy and Mark Cunning would do well to listen and learn before they get kicked out!

As long as it's not Dave O'Connor I don't care if they put a goat on that show. If they just stopped all the stupid prank calls and stuff now it might appeal to people over 16.

Yer wan who does the prank calls in that weird American accent trying to get people to say specific words...

Nope nope nope, can't get used of him at all! He's sense of humour, its like he doesn't have one, but he read a book on how to make people laugh or something. Not very natural! His co-host must be a very good actress! LOL

I've always liked Cooper and although I'm a Ray Foley Show listener as well, I've heard bits of his breakfast show and it sounds fine to me. I haven't heard much of the content but as posted above, he is well trained and experienced in CHR radio.
I think the music on iRadio is quite good but apart from Chris Greene (who I think is great) and Cooper, the presenters are truly awful.
