Fans of I’m A Celebrity and The X Factor watching on Freeview were left in the dark tonight after ITV went off air.


The channel disappeared from viewers’ sets in regions around the North of England, showing nothing more than a blank screen just before The X Factor results were revealed.

ITV tweeted: “Some people seem to be experiencing a few transmission problems. We’re looking into it now, so hang on in there!”

The channel’s official Twitter account later added: “We’re are trying hard to work out and fix the current transmission problems.”
