shooting bench

    Hi all just wanted to ask for some advice I made a shooting bench but wanted to ask wat would ye recommend in putting on top of the table which is made from plywood because the harmonics from the rifle after its shot travels through the bench and advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for any replys

    You could pick up a cheap pack of self adhesive cork floor tiles from B+Q. Stick them down and trim around the edge with a Stanley blade. That should eliminate all harmonics. If you need to, you could glue a second layer of ply on top. This would give you a solid surface with a sound/vibration deadening sandwiched layer in the middle.

    Thanks Amonisis ill check them out I don't think ill put another layer of ply cuz it will be way to heavy then

    The top layer of ply wouldn't have to be more than 4 - 6mm thick. Glued down properly with impact adhesive (Evo-Stik) it would be unlikely to warp, even being so thin. Let us know if you decide on the cork and how effective you find it.
