Hotel before Christmas

    I am looking to surprise my partner with a stay in a really good hotel just before christmas week.

    I want somewhere surrounded by nature with real character.

    The Brooklodge has impressed me the most so far but id love to hear suggestions.

    I'm not sure where you're located but I'm a big fan of the Farnham Estate in Cavan - planning on going there for a break in the next week or two. It has a brilliant spa, lovely walks in the woods and I found the service to be really good.

    I've heard great reports about Monart too - very pricey though.
