Was on the road earlier with the van and a trailer load of old timber comprising of a broken up kitchen a picket fence and some post and rail fence when I came on a Garda breathalyser checkpoint , Gardai were very interested in what was on the trailer and what I was doing 50 miles away from home with it regarding illegal dumping and transporting waste, I explained it was belonging to me as I was removing it from a rented property I own and bringing it to my home address to use it as kindling for our own stove which was the truth, was allowed to go on my way eventually, any of the other farmer/tradesmen on here bother like this

ive been checked a few times. rubble is a major issue with them. they sometimes will have checkpoints just for waste. Its good to see they are doing something. its a huge cost with illegal dumping especially with household waste. it can be a serious issue when hoarding goes up around dublin. if there are any hidden areas you could end up with a skip or two of rubbish thrown across it. I only know of one case that got prosecuted fully though. the gobsh1te left a heap of envelopes with his name and address on them.

A lad was caught dumping near here because his name was on empty antibiotic bottles, tough when have 400 acres to find somewhere to put stuff. What surprised me today at the checkpoint was all they were interested in was the stuff in the trailer , and if i was the person pictured on my licence as i still had my movember whiskers and looked a bit rough , never looked at the van windscreen

Please tell me it was a hiace you were driving. A big moustache on a rough looking bloke, a trailer full of sh1te behind it and you wonder why they were quizing you.

Did they quiz you about your licence

Was driving a Fiat and no self respecting Hiace driver would be seen in one of them.
I have the trailer licence so no hassle with that , it was more about a licence to carry building waste and did I live at the address on the driving licence , they never spotted that the tax was out a month on the van

The scene must have resembled the YMCA music video on the side of the road

That's about right, with a few lads blowing the breathalyser looking like sax players
Apparently I resembled a cross between Georgie bleedin Burgess and Hulk Hogan
