High Spec Tablets - Tegra Note 7 - Advent (Currys)

I looked at the new Tegra Note (220 or 240 euro, cant remember) up in PC World Carrickmines during the week. Seems fast and just up there specs wise with a Tega 4 Quad core 1.8GHZ processor. 1GB RAM seems low in comparison to the Snapdragon 800 tablets like Kindle Fire HDXs (2.2GHZ) and the LG G Pad (Snapdragon 600) (1.7GHZ) which both have 2GB RAM.

Although I may not need 2GB of RAM, it still feels like the specs are weaker even at the 220 or 240 euro price point. The screen is an OK 1280x800 IPS panel which is doesn't compare with the HDX or LG G Pad.

We always seem to get screwed on price over here, the Tegra Note sells for 200 dollars in the US and 220 euro here? Same on many tablets.

Anybody got any info on whats coming down the line in 2014?
In my mind I want a Tegra Note with 2GB RAM and Nexus 7 or HDX resolution screen. The 3GHZ barrier will be met by ARM chips next year so maybe I should sit it out for a big splash out! I don't think I can handle the tortuous rooting journey for a Fire HDX...its terrifying.

Hey Eoin, was in PCworld in Jervis today and the price of Tegra Note 7 has dropped to €149, I thought it's pretty good value and the general consensus seems to be that the tablet is very good.

The Tegra 4 is equal or faster than a Snapdragon 800. The lower resolution will also mean games run a lot better as well. If your a gamer you can't really beat the Tegra note.
