Don't know background and ***** is a huge loss but a general comment on boards.

I feel that maybe we should read our posts before posting and ensure it is something you would be comfortable saying face to face. It is easy be confrontational and/or controversial online and hiding behind a handle.

A poster may have had a bad day already for whatever reason and come on here for an escape or advice on a problem which is annoying them. We should all bear in mind that coming onto the forum for advice, shared experience or chat should be positive and constructive.

Speculating on a person's reasons for closing their account is highly inappropriate, as it's entirely their own private business.

With the exception of the one reply posted above, which I would 'Thank' multiple times if I could, all other replies to this thread have been deleted.

The circumstances which led to this person choosing to leave the forum DO deserve discussion and reflection, but it's all very fresh now and I'd be concerned that any such public debate right now would very naturally revolve around this particular individual case.
This would be grossly unfair to the person concerned, as we'd be talking about them in their absence without any way of knowing if what we were saying had any basis in reality or not and without them having any way to reply.

Please leave it with the mods for the moment, and we'll come back to the membership on this in a week or so.
